How to Build a Strong Social Media Influence
Social media influence really comes down to your ability to impact the online community with your content.
In marketing, this influence varies depending on the type of content you share, your target audience and the platform. Whether you are an individual, an expert in a certain field, or an established company/brand, each has their own unique impact.
These days, strong social media presence in a particular field is vital to transform users, into followers. You can’t just be active on social media, you really need complete engagement. Emerging as a powerful influencer in your industry allows you to become the go-to for many potential customers.
So, what best practices can help you build a strong social media influence? Read on to get the scoop!
Professionalism. Always.
The first step is to maintain a professional attitude towards your audience and social media as a whole. Social media may be considered a less formal way of communicating, but that doesn’t mean that you should completely abandon your professional ethics!
Always be sure that your posts on any platform are putting the best foot forward for your brand.
Cracking a joke in a reply, or posting a funny meme is fine – as long as it is brand relevant and true to your voice. Re-sharing a post with inappropriate language even if it is hilarious, or getting into a twitter battle with a stranger because you are passionate about XYZ, not so much.
Being unable to distinguish between these two is important. The latter can damage relationships with loyal customers and fail to engage new ones. But, a professional marketing approach can establish a positive connection with social media followers.
Make sure your voice on social media is in accordance with your overall business politics. Utilize social media as a tool to help connect with your current customers, identify potential customers and treat both groups with the courtesy and respect they deserve. This will eventually help you establish your brand as a recognizable and trustworthy voice within the industry.
Be relevant
Users are constantly swamped with hundreds of posts, images and even ads every day. It can be difficult to distinguish their importance. More and more people “mute” conversations or “unfollow” in attempts to suppress the excessive content they see in their news feed.
Social Media platforms are a competitive space and you have to earn your followers with worthwhile, targeted content.
When posting, first be sure your message is related to your niche, and that it provides value to your target audience. Users who are actually interested in your brand will continue following if the content really does matter to them.
Secondly, your message should be up-to-date, as there is nothing more frustrating for users than finding messages about events that already taken place -unless of course they were there and are looking back fondly with you- or promotions that have expired.
Consider relevancy within a time frame to be sure you’re on the right track.
Care is a virtue
Social media is a place to establish relationships, regardless if they are your customers, or other companies in the same industry.
One virtue that never goes unnoticed and the best way to establish that relationship? Care.
Caring in this sense really means being responsive and showing genuine interest about what other people have to say. Although your voice needs to be heard, other people’s opinion matters as well, so you shouldn’t hesitate to interact, answer questions, graciously accept feedback or provide help when one needs it.
This approach will help you deepen your relationship with your users, and ultimately earn you greater respect in the online community.
Care can also be shown with loyalty awards, like this approach from Lancome:

This “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” approach can really help when it comes to building your brand’s value.
Branding and presentation
Branding is a crucial part of online marketing and its effectiveness directly correlates to your success. If you want your brand to flourish on social media, you’ll need to apply a consistent branding
strategy and create an image that people can recognize and identify, regardless of the platform used to reach them.
Take a look at these captures from Sendlane’s Instagram:

When it comes to your own strategy, use branded images, universal messages and language that will appeal to your target audience. Use consistent filters for images, keep to your main color scheme as much as possible, establish consistent fonts and styles… all of these things help with brand recognition. Which, in turn, increases your social media influence.
If you’re looking for a solution to present a united social media presentation, look no further than Social Studio FX.
A graphic design and advertising suite, SSFX is preloaded with a ton of designs and text components on templates that are optimized for use with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and more. Not only that, but you can upload your own images and graphics, transfer designs between templates, and it’s all cloud based, so there’s nothing to download!
Grab Social Studio FX and incorporate a consistent presentation into your social media strategy. Presenting your brand in a consistent and professional manner will create unity between many aspects of your company’s marketing campaign.
Build Social Media Influence
Building strong social media influence requires a strategy that will incorporate all of these aspects to stand out in your industry.
Learning how to tailor your approach will help bring your social media marketing to the new heights. In the process of finding your own voice while utilizing these tools and techniques, you will be able to emerge as a social media superstar who shines with authority. This approach is crucial when it comes to becoming a go-to member of the community. The result is obvious – your social media account will flourish, members will be more likely to share your messages and thus add to your overall exposure!

6 Steps to Growing Your Instagram Following Organically
You’ve probably heard that Instagram is “the” platform to be on in 2017.
It’s visual. It’s engaging. And it’s huge: there’re over 600 million active users and potential loyal fans of your brand.
So, why aren’t they following you yet?
Succeeding on Instagram isn’t quite as simple as posting your content day after day.
Maybe you’re even using hashtags with little response, while your competitors seem to be gaining thousands of new followers every week.
What’s the answer? Should you bite the bullet and buy followers?
Buying followers is never the answer. Bought followers add to your numbers, but are ultimately meaningless because they won’t engage with your content. Real followers are worth far more than artificial followers could ever be.
And to get real followers you need to grow your Instagram organically.
Here are the six steps you need to take to get there.
1. Have a Game Plan
First and foremost, you need to have a plan for your Instagram strategy. If you’re just throwing every tactic and idea at the wall at once, you’ll have no idea what works and you won’t be able to repeat it.
Here are three things you need to become more consistent on Instagram:
Know Your Niche and Focus
In the same way you wouldn’t try to sell televisions in a bookstore, you need to have a focus for your Instagram feed.
For example, Meowbox is a monthly subscription box service for cat owners and their Instagram feed is incredibly popular with over 650,000 followers. One of the secrets to Meowbox’s success is its focus. Meowbox only posts cat pictures and cat videos on its feed. It’s 100% on brand and focused.
There are no random pictures of food or nights out partying.

Organize Your Week With Themes
Theming your days helps guide your content and adds variety.
Brand strategist Rosemary Watson regularly uses daily themes like Mood Board Monday and Friday Happy Hour in her Instagram feed. Most Mondays, Rosemary posts a mood board that sets the colors and mood of her images for the week and on Friday, she posts a photo of a cocktail.

Video, Stories, and Instagram Live
If you’re only posting still snaps, you’re missing out on a lot of potential engagement.
Vegan makeup brand Lime Crime often shares short videos on its Instagram feed. This video received over 80,000 views in 3 hours, whereas a photo posted at a similar time had under 10,000 likes.

2. Keep Your Feed Consistent With Filters
Data from a recent study by Georgia Tech and Yahoo Labs shows that filtered photos are 45% more likely to get engagement than unfiltered photos. And the best filters to use were those that gave higher exposure, warmer temperatures, or higher contrast.
So, take this into account when choosing your filter.
How many filters should you use? Sixty percent of the top brands of Instagram consistently use the same filter for each post. Keep it simple, be consistent, and limit yourself to one or two filters.
Here’s an example from Aleksandra Zee of how using one distinctive filter can help brand your Instagram feed:

3. Promote Your Content with Hashtags
You need to use hashtags. Posts with at least one hashtag get 12.6% more engagement on average, and Instagram gives you room for up to 30 of them.
But what kind of hashtags should you use?
Popular Hashtags for your niche
You can search on Hashtagify.me to find the most popular hashtags in your niche. However, you might find you have better results choosing slightly less popular hashtags that are more tightly focused on your niche.
For example, if you’re posting a picture of your cat and you use the hashtag #catsofinstagram, your post is likely to be quickly buried by an avalanche of new content. However, if you use a breed specific hashtag, you’ll likely find a smaller audience of diehard fans who love your type of cat.
Branded Hashtags
Have you checked out your competitors on Instagram recently? Chances are they might be using some of the same hashtags you’ll want to target. They might even have their own branded hashtags.
A branded hashtag is a hashtag that was created by a brand or business to promote its products or services. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t use it.
In fact, it would be hard to avoid using branded hashtags since, of the most used hashtags, 70% are branded. Use branded hashtags to connect with a pre-existing audience, and consider creating your own.
4. Engage With The Community
Instagram users are more engaged than any other social media platform’s users. Instagram posts typically get 58x the engagement of Facebook and 129x the engagement of Twitter.
To encourage engagement on your posts, engage yourself and be active on the platform.
Here’re some ideas to get you started:
Tag People in Your Posts
Posts that include another handle gain 56% more engagement. You could call out one of your followers, or someone you follow, to answer a specific question – or you could “regram” a post like Buffer does.

If you’re regramming, make sure you follow best practices and ask permission first. You should also credit the source in your caption by tagging them.
Use Emojis
A recent study found that a whopping 50% of Instagram posts contain emojis. And Instagram now treats emojis like hashtags so that you can search for them.
Emojis are being used increasingly frequently online as a kind of universal language that adds meaning and emotion to text in a way that’s easily understood. So, to make sure you’re understood and searchable, add emojis to your content.
Ask People to Like or Tag Others
Want more likes and engagement. Why not ask for it?
Foundr does a great job with strong calls-to-action to get its followers to like and tag others in its posts. Here’s an example:

With over 4,500 likes and 1,100 comments, that’s a lot of engagement. Another useful tip from Foundr is that they often make a statement in their caption and tell their followers to “double tap (like) if you agree”.
5. Do More of What Works
Are you measuring the success of your Instagram posts? Measuring your success means you’ll know what works so you can do more of it.
A simple formula for tracking your post’s success is to calculate your engagement (likes and comments) in relation to your follower numbers.
The formula is:
(Number of Likes + Number of Comments) / Number of Followers
The number you end up with is the percentage of engagement your post received.
Use this engagement formula to work out your top performing post types – and also your lowest performing post types. You’ll know where to focus your efforts and what you should stop doing.
6. Use an Instagram Account Management Tool
Entrepreneurs can’t be on Instagram at all hours of the day, although many of us would like to be!
And since social media marketing can take up a ton of time, it’s best to invest in an account management tool specifically for Instagram.
One popular tool that can manage your account on autopilot is Instamate 2.0. This tool is the first web-based software that allows you to automate your entire Instagram business.
Instamate 2.0:
- Has a built-in editor
- Is capable of scheduling and posting to multiple accounts or Instagram stories
- Can find, edit, upload, engage and monetize viral content
- Makes it easy to acquire leads and convert them into customers
By automating your Instagram strategy for your business, your organic reach will skyrocket in no time.
Grow Instagram Organically
Growing an organic Instagram following is not as difficult or time-consuming as you might think. It simply takes a plan – and sticking to that plan.
This means narrowing your focus so that each Instagram post is truly valuable for your audience. Do you have a core theme with your posts and are you using the power of Instagram Live and video to grow your following?
You also need to be consistent; Instagram is highly visual and your profile should have an aesthetic consistency that aligns with your brand.
Part of a successful Instagram strategy includes engaging with your followers and others. One way is to tag influencers or even do some regramming to grow your brand.
Finally, you also need to know how to promote your brand on Instagram. Unlike Pinterest and Facebook, Instagram relies heavily on hashtags, so finding popular ones and even creating branded hashtags will help you grow your following.
Add in a handy tool like Instamate, and you’ll find that running your Instagram account – or multiple accounts – takes very little time out of your day.
If you follow the steps outlined here, you’ll be well on your way to building an engaged and organic Instagram following.
Over to you – what’s your plan to grow your Instagram account?

39 Ways to Get More Social Media Followers
Social media marketing works only if you actually have fans or followers. This article will walk you through 39 proven methods for increasing your followers across your social media accounts. There are three underlying elements that must take place in order for these to work:
You must be consistent. If you use any (or all) of these strategies for two weeks, and then give up and move onto something else, they won't work. These need to be practiced consistently over the long haul to be effective. If you have limited time and resources to commit to social media, I'd recommend choosing only a handful of these strategies and then making sure you carry them out consistently.
You must know what your audience really wants. What you think they want and what they actually want may very well be two different things. Take a look at your analytics to see which types of posts and content have been most popular; this is what they want to see more of.
You must be a good social media citizen. While some of the tips may seem more like social media best practices, keep in mind that growing on social media is as much about keeping your current followers as it is about gaining new ones.

39 Strategies for Increasing Your Fans and Followers
1. Reach out to influencers: Find influencers in your niche using a tool such as Buzzsumo, and then share their content, tag or mention them, or comment on their blogs. As you build relationships, they are more likely to share your content with their followers.
2. Put social share buttons on each blog post: Make sure you include social media share buttons on each blog post, not just in your sidebar. This plugin for WordPress can help with that.
3. Post original, relevant content: This requires some outside-the-box thinking. Sharing other people's content should be a valuable part of your strategy, but make sure to share your knowledge and insights as well.
4. Periodically channel your email subscribers to your social media accounts: Every once in a while, encourage your email subscribers to follow you on social media.
5. Link to your social media accounts on your Contact and About Us pages: These visitors are already reaching out to you; give them another way to connect with you.
6. Identify popular posts to get more shares: Getting new fans often comes down to how often your content gets shared. A tool like Fanpage Karma can help you identify the most popular posts in your niche.
7. Be responsive: Posting engaging content is just one piece of the puzzle. Respond to questions, comments, and complaints in a timely manner.
8. Hold giveaways and contests: Hold contests and make liking your Page or following your Twitter account a requirement for entry. Rafflecopter is a fantastic tool for this.
9. Actively find and follow others: Don't just count on others to find you; go out and actively find others in your niche whom you can follow and engage with.
10. Tell stories: To avoid being overtly promotional, use stories to connect with and engage your fans. Stories are far more likely to be shared than promotional content. For more on this, see How to Maximize Your Marketing Campaign Through Storytelling.
11. Use relevant hashtags: Use a tool like Hashtagify.me to find relevant and trending hashtags. Use these in your posts to attract new followers who are searching for those hashtags.
12. Streamline your efforts: Being active and engaged on a few social networks will net you more followers over the long haul than sporadically posting on many networks.
13. Post viral content: Easier said than done, right? Post Planner can help by providing you with images and content that have been proven to go viral.
14. Post often: Optimal posting frequency will differ between networks and audiences. Test out different posting frequencies and see which ones result in the most engagement and shares.
15. Focus on quality over quantity: While posting often is important, social media growth is more likely to happen when you're focusing on sharing amazing, quality content that you know your audience loves.
16. Link to your social media accounts everywhere: Don't be shy about linking to your social media accounts. Do so in your newsletter, email signature, blog, etc.
17. Discuss social media conversations on your blog: Entice your blog readers to follow you on social media by crossing the blog/social network divide. Blog about heated or interesting conversations taking place on your social media accounts.
18. Offer incentives for people to follow or like you: Offer your social media followers exclusive discounts, freebies, or coupon codes.
19. Guest blog on popular niche sites: Regularly contribute guest posts to popular niche sites and link to your social media accounts in your bio. For help getting started, see "The Ultimate, Step-by-Step Guide to Building Your Business by Guest Blogging."
20. Add Facebook and Twitter widgets to your site: Go beyond simple social media icons, and use a Facebook Like Box or Twitter Embedded Timeline on your site or blog.
21. Promote your social accounts in-store: Offer your in-store guests an incentive to like or follow you on social media.
22. Try Facebook's promoted posts: Extend your reach by promoting posts that have a history of getting engagement.
23. Give stuff away: Incentivize likes and follows by giving away free product samples or prizes for new fans or followers.
24. Cross-promote with a complimentary business in your niche: Connect with other businesses in your niche and promote each other's social media content.
25. Build network-specific landing pages: Create landing pages on your site for visitors from each social network you're on, and then link to these pages in your social media bios. This may increase your follows only marginally, but you should see an increase in traffic and conversions.
26. Provide valuable education without being a know-it-all: Unique, valuable content that only you know has a great chance of getting shared. Think about what info or insights you can provide based on your unique experiences and industry knowledge.
27. Use humor: Evoking emotions (positive or negative) through your posts is great for increased sharing; however, posting funny or happy content will net you more sharing overall.
28. Reshare other people's content: Share posts, images, and tweets from other businesses, and they'll be more likely to share yours.
29. Become a valued member in an industry LinkedIn group: As you provide valuable insights, group members will be more likely to want to hear more from you on social media. For more on this, see my article "The Definitive Guide to LinkedIn Groups for Marketing."
30. Create topical boards on Pinterest: When naming Pinterest boards, be sure to target keywords people are actually searching for. To see what people are looking for, start typing possible keywords into the Pinterest search box, and see which keywords are auto-suggested.
31. Set a goal: Set short-term, specific goals for how many new fans or followers you want. This will help you keep your efforts focused and give you the best chance of actually achieving your goal.
32. Be a source of trending content and breaking news: Set up Facebook Interest lists and follow leading industry sources on Twitter, and then share breaking news with your followers. To find more info to share, see my article "How to Find Trending Blog Topics Your Audience Will Actually Care About."
33. Post only your best photos on Instagram: This suggestion goes along with an earlier one--focus on quality over quantity. With users having shared over 20 billion photos to date, posting a ton of poor quality images isn't going to get you far. Choose your best four to six photos each day and share the cream of the crop.
34. Be relatable: Let your fans and followers know you're a real person rather than a faceless business; this will make sharing your content with their friends feel like less of a risk.
35. Cross-promote your social media accounts: Periodically promote your other social media accounts to your fans and followers.
36. Answer questions on abandoned Facebook Pages: You'd be surprised at how many big brands have massive numbers of Facebook fans, and yet virtually ignore the questions and comments these fans leave. Respond in a helpful, non-promotional way to unanswered questions (and be sure to answer as your Page).
37. Include a social media call to action on your business card: Hand these out at trade shows, networking events, and speaking engagements.
38. Make sure your social media usernames are consistent: If you want people to actually find you when they search for you by name, make sure your account handles and usernames match your business name. Avoid abbreviations whenever possible.
39. Make your blog content tweetable with a click: Use a plugin such as Inline Tweet Sharer to encourage visitors to share your tweetable content.

10 Ways to Promote Your Latest Blog Article
YOUR article is polished and ready to go. You hit “Publish,” and eagerly wait for reactions. Whether it’s likes, shares or comments, any response is welcome.
As an author, feedback fills you with a sense of accomplishment and confirms that what you’re doing is meaningful. Engagement validates that your overall message is resonating with your followers and allows you to make a difference.
Still, one of the biggest obstacles bloggers face is how to effectively promote their articles. You’ve invested so much time into creating content that matters, naturally you’d want to find the best way to promote your content in order to get as many followers as possible!
So, here are ten ways you can promote your latest blog article:
1. Share It on Social Media
The most popular form of promotion is sharing your article on social media. However, it’s not enough to simply just share the link or use the autopost. Instead, use these methods to enrich your status update:
- Add images for visual interest (more on that here)
- Add relevant hashtags
- Include engaging intro text
- Tag relevant people or accounts
- Use a tracking link to keep an eye on engagement (hint, hint – try Click Perfect)
2. Ask Influencers to Share Your Content
Influencers are respectable people in your industry, and as such they have the power to boost the success of your article tremendously.
Try to reach these individuals through social media channels, or via email, and ask them to share your article.
Keep in mind that the article has to be both relevant to the industry and of high quality in order to intrigue and inspire them to share.
3. Send an Email to Those Mentioned in the Article
Whether you’re referencing articles, eBooks or 3rd party material as resources within your own post, make sure you contact the authors as a part of the promotion.
A best practice is to ask for an opinion, however you can also politely ask them to share on social media or link from their own blog while you’re at it! In most cases, they will respond positively, as it beneficial for both parties!
Important: Don’t forget to list resources in your article and always provide links back to the original content.
4. Contact People Who Have Shared Similar Content in the Past
Those who have already shared similar content might be interested in reading (and sharing) more about this topic, which is why this method is great for finding people who are genuinely interested in the niche you write about.
A great way to locate these individuals is through mentions and hashtags on social media.
You can also find blogs and websites that have shared similar content using a tool, such as Open Site Explorer. Simply copy the link of the related content, look up the web addresses that link to that content and get in touch to recommend your own article for inclusion.
5. Repurpose the Content to Target Users on Different Platforms
Repurposing content helps you expand the reach of your content, by leveraging the power of different platforms. For example, if you have a blog article, try creating a presentation featuring the same content, and then share it on relevant platforms, such as SlideShare. This way you reach SlideShare viewers, thus increasing the number of online users you reach.
6. Feature the Article on Your Website
There are two ways you can promote the article on your own website.
Firstly, make sure you feature it on the front page. Add a feature section specifically for your blog, that way anyone who visits your site will see the content.
The second way to boost its performance is to share it as, “Latest news” in the sidebar. This way you promote the article to the users who reach your website through other content. A sidebar is a great way to catch their eye and keep their attention once they’ve finished up looking at what they initially clicked through to see!
7. Leverage the Power of Subscribers
Once you publish the article, create an engaging email send it to your subscribers. After all, they provided their email address because they wanted to be informed about new content that you publish!
Feel free to ask your subscribers to share the article as well. If they liked the content, why wouldn’t their like-minded friends or followers benefit from the information too?
8. Take Advantage of Bookmarking Websites
Bookmarking websites, such as Reddit, StumbleUpon, or Triberr as a way to gain exposure to users who are part of these online communities. All you need to do is join a bookmarking website and create a profile, and then you’re ready to promote the articles through the platform.
Since social interaction is integrated into these types of websites, you should try to be active and interact with other users if you want to increase the number of people that see your posts through the platform.
9. Add the Article to an Online Magazine
User-curated online magazines is also a great way to promote content, as it allows you to create your own online magazine focused on a particular topic, or allows for the possibility to be featured by another curator.
Platforms such as Flipboard, Paper.li and ScoopIt, already have large online communities with users eager to explore and discover new interesting content.
10. Use Paid Advertising to Boost the Article
Paid advertising is always an available option for article promotion, regardless of the platform you want to focus on. Whether you are seeking promotion via, Facebook or Twitter Ads, promoted content on LinkedIn, etc. paid advertising boosts traffic and increases the reach of your article much faster than using any alternative, free methods.
Each promotional strategy has positive and negative aspects, each with a specific way to achieve desired results. As an author, you need to explore all available options, and find those that are most beneficial to you in terms of traffic and lead generation. Give your content the best possible chance to reach as many readers as possible! After all, this is what blogging is all about – inspiring others, sharing knowledge and making a difference.
Don’t worry if, for example, you haven’t seen valuable results from repurposing content. Even though this technique may work for some publishers, find the technique that works best for you!
Perhaps you find that social media activity works for you or maybe contacting influencers has shown great results in the past. Focus your energy on the options that bring you the best results. Time is valuable and it’s important to find the most effective option that works best for you!
Final Thoughts
In the end, it’s quality that matters most!
Search engines and social media filter out ineffective content, therefore it’s of the utmost importance to publish high-caliber blogs.
Make sure that the article you’re promoting is worthy, as this has a significant impact on the outcome of the promotional activity. Also, make sure you optimize your blog in order to keep visitors interested in your content and maximize your lead generation.

22 Tips for SEOs to Attract More Twitter Followers
Organically growing your Twitter base with genuine fans takes a concentrated effort. Between short attention spans and harsh competition, the road ahead isn’t easy.
However, it is still possible to create an engaging Twitter account that attracts loyal followers. To do this, you must craft original and unique content and make sure it gets in front of the right people. It’s also important to experiment with different techniques to see how they perform with your target audience.
Here’s our field-tested 22 tips for building your Twitter following. But before we get to that, let’s first take a look at why you’d want more followers in the first place!
Why You Want to Attract More Twitter Followers
With the number of Twitter users expected to approach 370 million in 2020, it’s no secret that this platform is one on which you need to have a presence. In fact, in 2016, 76% of marketers worldwide used Twitter to promote their business. Of course, a mere presence is not enough. An army of loyal followers can provide social proof, demonstrate your authority, and help further your reach.

Attracting more followers means more people see and share your posts and more potential customers. On that note, just bear in mind it’s not all in the numbers and you should ideally shoot for quality over quantity. It is more important that your followers, however many, listen, and interact with what you share.
With plenty of Twitter campaign success stories, there’s no reason why you can’t get in on a piece of the action. With the right balance of quality content, lots of personal interaction, and a little automation, you can make Twitter work its magic for you. Just always remember the cardinal rule of Twitter success — be genuine and don’t spam.
22 Tips to Attract More Twitter Followers
If you’re ready to start taking your Twitter presence seriously, put on your hard hat and gloves. It’s time to get down to business!
Tip #1: Target Tweetable Phrases, Not SEO Keywords
Shifting gears from SEO to social media targeting can be difficult. It’s important to remember that keywords for search engines and social media can be wildly different.
Instead of targeting phrases that someone might enter in Google, your keywords should be tweetable phrases. You can use these in Twitter search to hone in on your target audience.
Tip #2: Use Automation, But Proceed With Caution
Automation is the social media marketer’s superpower. You can automate likes, follows, lists, and direct messages. Doing this can free up a significant amount of time, allowing you to reach more people.
Like all superpowers, however, it has its kryptonite. Automation gone wrong will make you seem robotic and is likely to turn people off. Going too far may even get you removed from Twitter.
You can try using tools like Socedo and Tribeboost to manage automation and play with different combinations to ensure it appears natural.
Tip #3: Experiment Posting More Often Than You’re Comfortable With
Given the fast and furious pace of Twitter, not everyone is going to see every single one of your tweets. That means you can post more often than you think without becoming annoying!
Nichole Elizabeth DeMeré, a Moz contributor, recommends publishing a whopping 30–50 posts per day.
Tip #4: Promote the Same Post Multiple Times in One Day
Considering how quickly tweets get lost in the feed, it’s totally acceptable to share the same resource multiple times in one day. This helps get your content in front of more people.
The trick here is to use different text for each of your tweets, even when linking to the same thing. Tara Reid, another Moz contributor, suggests a 14 day, 14 tweets experiment to test the waters.
Tip #5: Don’t Be Afraid of Recycling Content
Another strategy Tara recommends is recycling your content and sharing older posts. Tools like MeetEdgar automatically do this in a way that fits naturally into your regular Twitter feed.
The team at MeetEdgar has collected multiple examples of how recycling content can improve engagement and reach a wider number of potential followers.
Tip #6: Do Continue to Share a Lot of New, Unique Material
Don’t be afraid to continue sharing one-off, fresh material. Being able to post the right content at the right time can serve as a great advantage.
Tip #7: Write From a Benefits-Driven Perspective
When you’re sharing your work, try to focus on why the person reading it should care.
For example, Chris Brogan doesn’t announce he’s written a new blog post. He tells the reader that they can control where they spend their time, which is something everyone wants:

Tip #8: Focus on Your Customer, Not Your Product
Data shows your customers care about personal interaction more than anything else. 77% of Twitter users are extra positive about a brand after being replied to! On top of that, 54% of users take action after seeing brand mentions within tweets.
It seems that stimulating conversation with your customers may drive more leads on Twitter than product-based promotion.
Tip #9: Use Fewer Words Per Tweet
Twitter recommends short, compelling messages.
You’ll want to measure your own engagement rates, of course, but 80–110 characters is the most effective range. This ideal character length has been around since 2012 and still holds strong.
Tip #10: Be Direct and Ask for Shares, Likes, and Retweets
It’s okay to be forward every once in awhile. Simply spelling out the full word ‘retweet’ in your request can result in a higher than average retweet rate.
Tip #11: Tell a Story
Using generic headlines will cause your message to lack originality and intrigue. Try tweaking them to bring out their story. If the post doesn’t have a story, try finding one that leads the reader into the post instead.
Tip #12: Use Eye-Catching, Original Graphics
Visuals perform well on nearly every social media platform.
While stock images can be helpful at times, your own graphics may net you better success. It is easier to stand out with unique content!
You can use tools like Picmonkey, Piktochart, and Visage to make your own.
Tip #13: Use Clear Actionable Language
Direct, actionable tweets convert better. It’s always a good idea to include a strong call to action.
Tip #14: Include Relevant Hashtags
Including a relevant hashtag can double engagement with your tweet. The only rule here is to make sure the hashtag actually makes sense.
Tip #15: Be Creative With Trending Hashtags
Double-check the meaning of a trending hashtag before piggybacking it. Often these are related to public tragedies or other sensitive topics, and the last thing you want to do is post something wildly insensitive and inappropriate.
After it checks out, go nuts! Show your humour or put a clever spin on it.
Tip #16: Start Your Own Hashtag Campaign
Alternatively, make up your own hashtag. Companies do this all the time, but do a common sense check before launch to avoid epic #fails.
Tip #17: Host an Engaging and Informative Twitter Chat
A Twitter chat can attract all kinds of new followers who are genuinely interested in your point of view.
Tip #18: Create a Guideline for Your Twitter “Voice”
A brand voice helps you craft consistent, engaging tweets with personality.
Tip #19: Use Your “Voice” Guidelines to Brand Your Profile
Make sure your profile is filled out using that same guideline! This is the first impression potential followers get when they come to check you out.
Tip #20: Respond Quickly
Responding quickly to customer support is crucial. Users expect your response within the hour.

Tip #21: Track Your Shared Links
You can automatically track shared links on apps like Hootsuite or Buffer. If something is working, keep sharing that kind of content!

Twitter lists allow you to organise the people you are interested in. Neil Patel offers a detailed guide for how to use them to their fullest potential.
